AR, Accelerated Reader, is a major part of students' grades, and is important for strengthening reading comprehension. It is recommended that students read at least 30 minutes each night and record a summary (at least a half page) in their notebooks for homework. This allows me to see what they are reading and thinking about, and allows students to work on their comprehension.
Students should be reading an AR book for homework in order to finish the book within a reasonable amount of time, and to test on it to earn points. If your child is unsure if a book is an AR book, or unsure of the reading level, refer to ARbookfind.com
If you have questions about homework, AR, or your child's book level range, please contact me.
